What is TMJ?

TMJ actually refers to a joint in the jaw that everyone has. TMD is a painful jaw condition caused by dysfunction of the bones and/or muscles surrounding the TMJ.

The Symptoms of TMD

  • Jaw “clicking”
  • Muscle spasms
  • Headaches
  • Facial pain
  • Ringing in the ears
  • Restricted jaw movement
  • Inflammation in the gums

How We Treat TMD

Rather than treating the symptoms, we aim to identify and fix the root cause of the problem. Our treatment for TMD involves the use of a custom splint that helps bones and muscles reposition, alleviating your jaw pain.
