At East End Dental Wellness

Here at East End Dental Wellness, our role is to help diagnose and inform our patients about their options. We then collaborate with specialists when necessary. We’ll focus on making sure you know what to do to prevent further damage or prevent issues from happening in the first place. Interested in taking a comprehensive view of your health we want to do everything possible to help you have healthy teeth, gums, and surrounding bones, for life.

Our emphasis is on your whole-body system. That includes your joints and muscles, emotional health, even your behavioral and lifestyle choices. Our work isn’t about your individual teeth, but about your entire health and well-being.

Dr. Kim, along with every member of our team, look forward to helping you to be as healthy as you can. Whether it is through a simple checkup and cleaning or extensive restorations, we’ll help you take ownership of your oral health.

Regular Exams and Cleanings

When you come to our Easton, MA office for a dental exam, your dentist will start by doing a complete visual exam of your teeth and gums. We look for early signs of dental health problems so that we can take action before things get serious (and costly!) We also give your teeth a detailed cleaning that removes plaque and tartar build up.

Here is a step by step of our exam/cleaning process:

  • Assessing the surface of your teeth to identify cavities
  • Periodontal exam to check for gum disease and bone loss
  • Removing hard mineral buildup from the surface of your teeth
  • Detailed flossing to remove plaque from hard-to-reach spots
  • Applying polishing compound for the perfect shine
  • Applying fluoride to strengthen teeth and prevent future cavities
  • Recommending specific treatment (if necessary)

An exam and cleaning appointment will typically take about 45 minutes all together. We strongly recommend that you visit for a regular exam/cleaning every 6 months.

Fluoride is a chemical formula that is used to prevent cavities and tooth decay. Our fluoride treatments only take a few minutes and they protect your teeth for up to 6 months. Fluoride application is a part of our regular cleaning process, but for patients at high-risk for cavities, we can provide fluoride treatment on a more regular basis.

Implant Restoration

Replacing missing teeth is important to your health and appearance. When teeth are missing, the mouth can shift, causing you discomfort and even changing the way your face looks. We provide porcelain dental implants that look natural and last a lifetime.

Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are molars that generally appear during the late teens or early twenties. Oftentimes, the jaw lacks room for these teeth or the angle of entry makes it impossible for the teeth to grow in correctly. Impacted wisdom teeth that are not removed can cause severe pain the gums. We recommend that wisdom teeth be removed as soon as they start forming. The longer you wait, the harder they will be to extract and longer your recovery process will be. Our goal is to make your wisdom teeth extraction process as easy and painless as possible. We can discuss your options for anesthesia before the surgery, and we’ll make sure you have proper after-care so that your recovery is quick.

Sealants protect teeth from decay that occurs in the deep crevices between teeth. They are most often applied to children’s teeth as a preventative measure, but adults can also receive sealants. After teeth are sealed, brushing becomes easier and more effective. Sealants typically last 3-5 years, though it’s not uncommon for them to last much longer. If you have a sealant that has come out, we can re-seal your teeth.

Our fillings are made up of ceramic and plastic compounds that mimic the appearance of natural teeth. If you have a cavity that needs a direct filling, we can do it in a single visit. For an indirect filling (inlays, veneers, etc.) you may need two or more visits to get the job done. Our fillings are built to last and stop decaying teeth from sustaining further damage.

For patients with missing teeth, a bridge may be the best course of action to restore the appearance of the smile. Bridges fill empty spaces with artificial teeth that last long and look real. We can make bridges from a variety of materials, including gold, alloys, and porcelain.
